We all have those recipes we know we can count on in a pinch if company pops by unexpectedly. This Classic Hummus dip is that recipe in our house. I know I always have the ingredients on hand in the pantry and it is delicious when served with veggies, pitas, breadsticks or pretzel chips.
1 (15oz) can chickpeas, drained
1/4 cup tahini
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 t garlic, chopped
1/2 tsp sea salt
optional toppings: roasted chickpeas, chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, fresh herbs, paprika
Combine ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy, scraping sides with a wooden spoon as needed. Refrigerate until serving.
